Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern your use of the Alike iOS app. Alike is operated by Oleksandr Solokha, an individual developer based in Ukraine (“we”, “us”).
By downloading or using Alike, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
Note on the App Store EULA. Alike is distributed through the App Store under Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement, which is the licence that legally governs your use of the app. These Terms describe how Alike works, what the subscription includes, and what you can expect from us. Where these Terms and Apple’s Standard EULA conflict on licence terms, Apple’s Standard EULA controls.
What Alike Does
Alike scans the photos in your photo library, compares them using Apple’s on-device Vision framework, and groups visually similar photos so you can review each group and choose which photos to delete.

Licence
Subject to these Terms and Apple’s Standard EULA, you get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Alike on Apple devices you own or control, for personal, non-commercial purposes.
You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits it; rent, lease, lend, sell, or sublicense the app; or remove any proprietary notices.
Your Photos Are Your Responsibility
This is the most important thing in this document.
Alike helps you decide which photos to delete. It does not decide for you, and it can be wrong: two photos that look similar to a computer may not be interchangeable to you.
You are solely responsible for reviewing each group and for what you choose to delete. Every deletion requires your explicit confirmation, and iOS shows its own confirmation before removing anything. Deleted photos go to your Recently Deleted album, where iOS keeps them for approximately 30 days.
Back up your photo library before doing a large cleanup. We are not responsible for photos you choose to delete, including photos you later wish you had kept.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to use Alike to process photos you have no right to access, to violate anyone’s privacy or intellectual property rights, or to break any law that applies to you.
Alike Pro Subscription
Alike is free to download and includes core scanning and cleanup. Alike Pro is an auto-renewable subscription that unlocks the full feature set.

Prices are shown in the app in your local currency before you purchase and may vary by storefront. The price shown at the moment of purchase is the price that applies.
Billing and renewal
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
- Your subscription renews automatically at the then-current price for the same period, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
- Trial eligibility is determined by Apple per subscription group. If you have previously used a trial in the Alike Pro group, you are not eligible again.
- If you buy a subscription while a free trial is running, the remaining trial period is forfeited.
Managing and cancelling
You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions, or through the App Store. Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not retroactively refund the current period, and you keep access until the current period ends.
We cannot cancel your subscription or issue refunds ourselves. Subscriptions, cancellations, and refunds are handled entirely by Apple. Refund requests go through Apple’s refund process, and Apple’s decision is final. Some jurisdictions grant statutory withdrawal or refund rights that Apple honours regardless of the above.
Changes to pricing or features
If we change the subscription price, Apple will notify you and ask for your consent before any increased price applies to your renewal, as required by App Store rules. We may add, change, or remove features over time; we will not remove a materially advertised Alike Pro feature during a period you have already paid for without offering a comparable replacement.
Availability and Changes
We may update, suspend, or discontinue Alike or any of its features. If Alike is discontinued entirely, we will stop selling new subscriptions and let existing paid periods run out or be refunded through Apple.
Alike requires a supported version of iOS. We are not responsible for the app failing to work on unsupported, modified, or jailbroken devices.
Disclaimer of Warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Alike is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that Alike will be error-free or uninterrupted, that its similarity detection will be accurate or complete, or that it will identify every duplicate or avoid grouping photos you consider different.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, photos, or profits, arising out of or related to your use of Alike.
Where liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid for Alike in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any mandatory statutory consumer rights you have.
Apple
Apple is not a party to these Terms and has no obligation to provide support for Alike. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you. In the event of any failure of the app to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app.
Termination
These Terms apply until terminated. Your licence ends automatically if you fail to comply with them. You may end them at any time by deleting the app. Termination does not entitle you to a refund of any unused subscription period except as required by law or granted by Apple.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms. The updated version will be posted at this page with a new “Last updated” date. Material changes will also be noted in the App Store release notes. Continuing to use Alike after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ukraine, and disputes will be subject to the courts of Ukraine.
This does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in your country of residence. If you are a consumer in the EU, the UK, or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protections, you keep every right and remedy that law gives you, including the right to bring proceedings in your local courts.
